We have been working on my project over the last few months. Our idea is a wiki for people to share their collective knowledge about "people, places, and work." Point your browser to
http://people-places-work.info/addPerson.aspx
and share information from your last interview with others. You can see other people's contribution at
http://people-places-work.info/showCelebrities.aspx
, which I hope will grow rapidly with meaningful information. This idea is superior to approach taken by Linked-In.com because it allows for the coverage of "people, places, and work" about those who have not taken the time nor effort to disseminate information about themselves and their connections. It is a sort of old-fashioned town hall meeting for the Internet generation, modeled after newsgroups and the wisdom of the crowds. Note that anything that you say ends up in the public domain. Please read the membership agreement before posting. I am working on a Turing test to deflect spambots and a rating system which will allow users to vote on other people's contribution to the site. Not only will good postings rise to the top and spam will fall to the bottom of the heap, but also, your internal reputation will be used in determining the value of subsequent postings. Hence, as your reputation increases, the weight of your opinion will be more influential in deciding the value of the other postings. We encourage you to both contribute to this effort, as well as make use of the information presented. I would like to discuss the pro's and con's of this idea. Maybe, I can find someone who is interested in taking over the marketing and recruitment effort, so that I can concentrate on strategy, coding and my sales presentation to VC firms? Ideally, we would like to grow this into a business generating revenue.
Any suggestions or comments? We are looking for contributers of all sorts.
Thanks
Walter
